Merry Christmas !!!

We concluded the term 's classes yesterday , having a break till January the 11th 2010. Thank you all for the beautiful feedback you gave me, about the adding on to our classes, extra Mantra chanting and kirtan done for Paramahamsaji's departure. It is amazing how fast our creative centers can be triggered and awakened by practices of Bhakti Yoga, like so many of you went back into playing an instrument that you had let go , or singing again or feeling this opening in the heart. Thank you for the feedback on healthy nutrition that helped your energy and digestion and on the Hatha yogic cleansing techniques we did, that were of great help into facing colds and flue. We will take all these a step farther on next term. And am so happy to hear that the combination of all yogic practices together have helped you living a happier life and to keep a calm, clear mind handling all kind of challenging situations . Enjoy the Christmas Holidays , going a step further than..... indulgence on eating more cakes , going deeper into the meaning of Jesus Christ 's teachings , Love, caring , compassion!!!! And carry on to your sadhana (practices done for a long time uninterrupted with faith and conviction).

First seminar on HEALTHY NUTRITION

The magic of nutrition is that by combining proper sattwic & rajasic ingredients such as vegetables, pulses , grains , fruits and nuts together with specific ayurvedic spices like cumin seeds and powder, mustard seeds and tumeric, coriander seeds or fresh coriander, ginger , chili, cinammon and gloves we can gain maximum energy , have a ballanced state of body and mind , increase our mental & physical vitality and experience peace, emotional stability , lightness & clarity of mind. Adding on to it a positive frame of mind while cooking and more tips like eat moderately, when hungry , at fixed times, avoiding too many combinations and late dinner , eat under peaceful circumstances, rest after eating for half an hour....and much more. Yogic nutrition and lifestyle adds on to the yogic practices and all together bring this beautiful transformation of living a happy healthy life.

For this ,the first of the seminars, we cooked a full range of indian dishes. We started with an appetizer of onion bargee, then had a dal soup, potatoes in ginger and tomatoes, vegetable curry, basmati rice, chapatis and finished with a lemon sorbet and to drink we made a cooling mango lassi . The whole meal demonstrated the balance of nutrition, taste and health

Paramahamsa Satyananda took Mahasamadhi !!

Hari Om,
Paramahamsa Satyananda Saraswati, the founder of Bihar School of Yoga, attained Mahasamadhi at midnight December 5th, in Rikhia.
He called Swami Satsangi at 11.30 and said it was time for him to go, he was sitting in padmasana practicing japa and left his body at midnight with a smile on his face.
Remember that the relationship between disciple and Guru is eternal and inspite some loss on the physical level,be comforted that the mystical relationship of guidance, grace and blessings sustains the disciple through all births and all the eternity.
